Fred has lived in the DC area most of his life. After 20 years in the food industry, he fell in love with pizza when he noticed an uptake in qualify pizzerias in our area. During his tenure as general manager in a popular Italian restaurant in Georgetown, he was encouraged to travel to Italy in search of pizza. It was no secret that best pizza in the world is in Napoli, the birthplace of pizza. After several trips to different cities in Italy, as well as Naples, there was no doubt he wanted a Neapolitan pizzeria – if he ever wanted a restaurant. Today, CRUST is the brainchild of that dream, and he is committed more than ever to making sure we make the best authentic Neapolitan pizza in our city. He believes one visit to CRUST will convince you of the same. He always says pizza should be fresh, light and exceptionally satisfying. He insists NOT to compare this pizza with NY or Chicago style pizza, as they’re all miles apart from each other.
